Yes, but get the good stuff, dont waste your money on the cheapo stuff at lowes....your truck will smell in the summer heat...

Makes alot of outside noises go away, and if you have a system alot of stuff wont rattle...

sound proofing will be worth it as long as it is what you are going after. i'd love to do my truck, i just dont have the time or money.

 

Second Skin Audio. Cheaper and 102398210398 times better than dynamat. Look into it.

 

And yes it is worth it. No exhaust or tire whine. System is alot louder if you have one.

 

Im going to do this when i have my interior ripper out switching over to black... I know it would be worth it.

 

I did mine. It's worth it. I can still hear the tires and engine noise though, didn't change too much. That stuff comes through the windows/firewall. Also there is a lot of little spaces where noise will still come from.

If you have (or are into) audio, I would DEFINETLY do it. It helped my truck out a lot.

 

I've been doing sections. All I have left is the back under the window. Doors, floor, and roof are done.

 

What is sas? Besides straight axle swap.

i personally think it is worth it. i did the rear of my 626 and was pleased by the results. but i went thru with the mat, and then filled in the cavities with expanding foam for added benefits.

if you wanted a hand, i have worked with second skin before, and could probally even find you a discount on it. i would also be willing to help you install it as well if we could find some time that was good for both of us.

 

This reminds of when I had spray in insulation put on the inside of '77 Ford E-150. It made a BIG diffrence with the van. Made it quiet, stronger and warmer.

I would think the stick on stuff would be good as long as the adhesive covers the whole area.

They are always asking for new ideas for Linex..... How about sealing the inside of the cab? Probably someone has already done it. So you buy some of the DIY stuff and cover the inside of the truck?

 

Yeah it's been done but it was in a 240sx "silvia" and they used Rhino Lining but they only used it to seal the interior... Check out last month's (??) Car Audio or Super Street

 

hmm, when i get some more work lined up and some of my bills paid down, ill be definitely looking into this. my stockers seem to make a fair amt of road noise, prolly cause i havent rotated them in 8,000 miles, but 2 of the 4 are shot anyways..

what voids did you fill in with the expandable foam?

and the new yorker - My schedule is VERY flexible, and i have a warm/cool place to do it depending on the weather.
