If you have a 28 spline rear 8.8, you can't use the ST discs. They're a 31 spline axle, so the backing plates are different. Follow Michael's link.

How do you find out how many splines your axle is?
Say like for example a 2003 FX4...
Thanks.

Look at the tag on your rear diff. It should have 5 digits on it. The first 3 are your FDR, the last two are your size (7 5 or 8 8).

I did a search, threre's a ton of info here, from what I gather an 03 FX4 has a 28 spline, and the FX4 Level II has the 31.
Going to start snagging the parts so when spring hits I can do the conversion.

Another way is measure the circumference of the axle tubing. Divide by pi and that will give you your axle tubing diameter, the level 2 31-spline is 3.25" IIRC.. The 28-spline is 3.00" or 2.75" IIRC. It's a pretty noticeable difference in diameter just looking at it though.

Same vertical axis... Except the ST's are SUA, and rangers are SOA...
