Stock headunit/amp/sub

Hey all you F150 owners...or people knowledgable in the subject....can anyone tell me if you can run an aftermarket sub/amp off of the stock headunit in your F150's? I mean the newer F150s....preferable 2010/2011's.

If so, how?

Thanks

I doubt the factory radio has RCA outs, you can buy stuff that use your speaker channels and make a RCA out, but i dont think they work well.

Yeah, i've been doing some research over on F150Forums but figured i'd post up here to see what people say. Ive read similar things as what you posted.

I've installed a couple systems in my day, but am not too knowledgable in the subject. Just some basic stuff.

F-150 stock stero and subs

Those of you who have experience or who may know... can you hook up subs to a stock stereo in a 2010 or 2011 F-150?

Thanks.

I have my front speakers split into an RCA unit. Works excellent. I have the factory head unit with Mtx sub and amp. Can't remember the manufacturer and it was a freebie from my budy who worked at future shop. I remember it not being to ridiculously priced tho. Visit your local best buy or any store that will offer to install a sound system, if you can talk to the install team they will know exactly what you need to get the job done.

My subs still hit great and I listen to everything very loud all the time. The one thing that was odd that I wasn't able to figure out is that my remote line pulled off my amp and somehow I was able to draw power through my RCA cables. Didn't seem to have any sounds quality issues but I'm honestly not sure what kind of issues it could cause to the amp. Other than that it's worked awesome.
