i would pull the spark plugs turn it over to get the water out of the motor (if it did suck up water). Put the plugs in then change the oil. see if it runs if so change the oil more frequently. Do a compression test.

Oil PSI fell off likely due to the water in the engine. In other words, not enough viscosity in water-logged oil to maintain oil pressure. If you tried to start this thing before draining the water-logged oil, that was a foolish idea.

2 days in the drink is quite alot of time. The vehicle is likely done for but here's what I'd do after dunking something:

Buy about 8 gallons of oil and 8 filters and a set of plugs.

Pull plugs, turn motor over (don't start), check for water in the top end, drain oil, replace filter, fill oil, turn motor over (don't start), check for water in the top end, drain oil, change filter, turn motor over (don't start), drain oil, check for water in the oil, install new plugs, change filter, fill oil, start for 10 seconds, drain oil, check for water in the oil, change filter, fill oil, start for 10 seconds and repeat until no signs of water are in the oil.

Thats going to be the least of your worries. My guess is you probably bent a connecting rod. There is probably rust in your cylinders now aswell.

Did you try to start it once it was out?

Electronics will work after being wet or even completely submersed in liquid so long as nothing burnt up once the liquid was introduced to the electronics while they were powered up.

Thing is, they have to dry completely first before powering up and hopefully nothing got fried as it came in contact with liquids.

The other problem is, you don't know what, if anything, was damaged electronically when the truck was submereged.... but I suppose those bridges will need to be crossed if you decide to persue recovering from this without contacting your insurance provider.

To answer your question, replace the wiring? No.

Replace the ECU? You won't have that answer until you try to fire it up. Before doing so, I highly recommend you dry out everything that has an electrical connection...ECU included.

Anything that was in the water needs to be dried out completely before you have the answers to your questions.

I was thinking the same thing. We have all sunk them to the frame either in mud or snow and I have never seen one die from sitting on the frame. Gotta wonder how fast he was going when he hit the mud hole?

ok, thanks for all the help so far, but here is a step by step picture of what happened, first i sunk it, and the whole time it was sunk we had the truck running, and it died a couple of times but fired right back up, and then i had to leave it over night due to insufficiant vehicles that could pull me out, but then the big guns showed up and before he pulled me out my truck fired up in an instant from sitting in the hole over night, then i got pulled out and we immeadiatly drained the oil and changed the air filter and oil filter, and then i drove it about 400 to 500 feet and the oil pressure gage went nuts and just lost all pressure and then the battery went and it kinda went downhill from their, any ideas on what happened? and btw i was ****ing flying when i hit that mud hole !!!!
