Hi all, I have a 2001 Ford ranger xlt with a 3.0. My friends and I have a 1991 f150 with a 5.0 v8 that we are going to take out and put into my ranger. After we get it all swapped in we are going to start doing even more upgrades to the engine (supercharger, tunes, big cams, etc). I was wondering that when I am completely finished with the build, will it increase the value by significant value?

It won't increase it at all.

Modified vehicles generally lose value.

+1 ^^^

Just do a search for V8 Rangers, people sell their conversion
And "asking price" is NOT "getting price" lol

Custom vehicles are a labor of Love, if you get back 50 cents on the dollar you are EXTREMELY lucky, take the money and run, the labor you did was FREE

But................if you can take a non-running vehicle and turn into a running vehicle then you can make some money as long as you don't customize, that's what kills your profit

People that want Custom, rarely buy custom, they would like to get what they want, add only the options they want, so won't pay for "extras"
A supercharged V8 Ranger would only interest some one who wanted to BUILD a supercharged V8 Ranger themselves, looky loo's

Just ask yourself, when its finished............Would YOU buy it for top dollar...............or build it yourself

My guess is that a stock 5.0 that looks factory installed with bullet proof electronics, correct and Perfect front end mods, no vibrations, quiet exhaust done right, and more! would probably bring some rain. Let the new guy mod the motor, you concentrate on getting everything right.
