Tack cluster...

I went to a U pull and Pay the other day and pulled a tack cluster out of Ranger.
I was wondering if it will work in my Ranger. It has a regular cluster in it now. Can I just pull this cluster out and unplug it & plug the other in??
Or do I need to do some re-wiring, which I am not good at.?
By the way, my Ranger is a 1994.

It should work just fine. Most vehicles in the last 20 years anyway have the information contained in the data stream. If the feature isn't on the cluster, the cluster just ignores that information.

Thanks, I have switched another cluster for a tachometer cluster in a 92' Ford Festiva and it worked. I was wondering if it was the same for the Ranger.
Thanks again, I'm going to go ahead and install it!
