At what mileage does most 3.0 auto rangers trannys fail.....is there an average mileage?

 

with a 3.0 and 33's if you have any gearing less than 4.56 it shouldnt be much longer...lol...i have seen them fail at <50k and i have seen them with 200+ that have never been openend up...all about driving style and maintenance

 

What Justin said it's all how you treat it. If properly maintained and not beat all to hell they will last quite a while. What gear set do you have btw?

 

The biggest killer of the tranny is heat, if you try to pull a heavy load and dont use drive instead of overdrive it will overheat it quick and you will lose the overdrive. once gone its rebuild time to replace the overdrive drum. I have heard an add on cooler can help but i just went back to a 5 sp standard for no more worries.

 

The standard is weaker then the auto in the rangers.....

 

its weaker on load but as a DD manuals last longer than autos.
