temp hand
I have a 1996 Ford ranger with a 2.3L 4 cyclinder having problems with the temperature gauge I replaced the thermostat and the sensors but my temp hand only moves past the C Mark just a little . Is there anything else I can do to fix it

Welcome to the forum
The 2006 Ranger uses an HEC(hybrid electric cluster), fancy name for digital dash board, lol
Have a look here to test HEC: http://www.carlogic.org/bg/data/Ford...ler%20mode.pdf
Or Google: Ranger HEC testing
To get videos on what to do and what to expect
That tests if the temp gauge can move from C to H
What engine do you have?
Below is for the two 2006 V6 engines NOT the 2.3l 4cyl which is different
While the dash is digital the temp gauge is still analog and uses a separate SENDER on the engine, it will have a red/white stripe wire and a black white stripe wire connected
This is a 12volt SENDER not a sensor
The engine will also have a 5volt sensor that sends coolant temp data to the computer
So there are TWO different temp devices on the engine, NOT interchangeable
Sensor uses Light green and Grey wire
