Temperature Guage stays at C

My 1991 ranger I got from my dad in Arizona 1 year ago, I live in Connecticut and noticed that the gauge barely moves, the heat worked fine, then I stored it over the winter and now it’s spring so I been driving it and noticed the gauge is not moving at all but the heat is fine….. any ideas what this might be? Someone said maybe the thermostat? Any info would be greatly appreciated

Is the temp sensor an expensive fix?

"Expensive" is a relative term. It all depends on your financial situation. For some, it might mean not paying other bills this month. For others, it's a drop in the bucket.

How much is it? Again... depends. DIY or mechanic? If the latter, is it the dealership or an independent shop. It also depends on how trustworthy that shop is, and how greedy they are. I'd say anywhere from $125 to $600.

Thanks, it’s an independent garage I’d use, I trust them just wanted to get an idea on how much it would cost and get it done.

You can do it yourself for less than 25 bucks.
