4-5k? I've had mine to 5500. But only because I was passing a semi before a lane ended on the mountain.

More than likely Its going to hit a rev limiter before the redline and a automatic will shift before the redline...

on the contrary i can over rev mine and i have an auto! if you don't have enough traction you can run the tach off the gauge..... and the tranny didn't shift till I got back out of it. and its alot easier to do in 4lo

With a Bama Tune my truck will run the RPM's to around 6000Rpm's to 6500Rpm's when I nail it. The Neutral,Park Rev-Limiter set by him is 6500

I don't plan on finding my rev limiter......no need to.

Sitting in a parking lot or at a red light, bouncing the tack needle off the red line is rice....end of story. If you're a young male between the ages of socially awkward and no common sense and drive a Civic......then you automatically fit into this category.

Mine will go off the tach, I've taken it there more than required, no problems, it should be able to take it if the factory set the rev limiter there.

How do you guys get it so high? With the skinny pedal on the floor I can only get it to 4500rpm.

I've had mine to 6500 at the drag strip, thats where my rev limiter is. It took some valve work to get it to safely rev to that though, before new springs the valves started floating much earlier.

i think the 4.0 sohc is set to 6150 which i have hit multiple times becuase I seem to believe my truck is a race car and my buddies always get me going with their 91' civic si's

ford put the rev limiter there for a reason, hitting it wont hurt anything as long as your on top of regular maintenance which i am overkill on
