Icon14 Oil- Best Combo Ever

For me that is, I have a 1996 ranger with just over 200,000 miles on it and a 1997 Ford Taurus with almost 200,000 miles on it, the ranger developed a TICKING sound in the engine about six months ago and when I decided to get PRACTICAL and LOGICAL for what kind of oil to use in it, the ticking went AWAY in about 200 miles now my Taurus started doing the same thing and I am now using the exact same combo in it and the ticking stopped the same day! ( True story )

the ranger calls for " Sae 5w-30" and the Taurus also calls for " Sae 5w-30 " and since engine tolerances are so exact nowadays I figured I would use exactly what ford requires/recommends

So this is the combo I use and it REALLY is the **** when it comes to older engines with lots of miles but still run good!!!!!! Plus I have NO/NONE/NODDA/ZIP as far as leaks or seapage!!

I use one quart of " Lucas Heavy Duty Oil Stabilizer "

and for the rest of the oil I use " Castrol GTX High Mileage Sae 5w-30 "

Lucas >>> http://www.lucasoil.com/products/dis...tid=2&loc=show

Castrol Sae 5w-30 >>> http://www.castrol.com/castrol/gener...tentId=6003494

And here is the filter I use on both, it is the Fram Tough Guard >>>http://www.fram.com/products/oilFilters.php#oilFilters2

Yes sir. I use Castrol and Lucas in my truck and I change it at every 5000 miles.
