tools -- metric or SAE needed

I have a 1999 Ranger XL that I just bought in Hawaii.
I need to ship some tools over there so I can do some basic maintenance before I get all my tools shipped.

Can anyone tell me ,, do I need some metric tools to work on the engine?
I know some cars made in America have the engines made overseas and the the engine is metric. I'm not in hawaii right now so I can't check the truck.

Thanks

Welcome to the forum

Engines are made in the US or Canada and so are the Rangers, but engine nuts and bolts do use metric, except spark plugs of course, lol

Chassis nuts and bolts can be SAE or metric

You'll want both sets, because someone couldn't make up their mind, lol. I find that most interior parts are metric while most bolts outside are SAE. At least on my truck.
