It doesn't work. It restricts air flow, and doesn't atomize the fuel particles any better than they already are. Don't waste the time or money.

i had one on my 99 and 2000 ranger both with the 3.0 and i thought it helped out with acceleration and mpg..but the 99 at 60,000 miles the tranny went out.. dont think it caused it tho.delivering mail on back roads 100 miles a day seems to wear things out!

Gotta agree. Had one and gas mileage went down. Like Needforspeed says, if anything it's just a piece of metal to clog up the air stream.

I found one in my truck when I got it. It's now a cool looking paper weight.

Absolutely totally worthless!!!! There aren't any fuel particles to atomize at the throttle body with an EFI engine!!

this stuff was on "MYTHBUSTER T.V. show" while back, they acually proved this "Tornado" stuff does NO benifit! it acually resticted air! They also tested serval other "Magic fuel saver stuff " and it's all shows weird and scary results that you don't want that stuff near your vechiles!

ya ford tryed to sell me one when i bought my truck, i forget the price but it was in the hundreds of dollars, i want to say 350! but anyway it was this super "vortex fuel save" so i told them i didnt want that crap. well i go to change my air filter and what do i find, a cut up soda can! ok ok it was the tornado. but no i didnt notice any difference without it.. and i guess it was cheaper to leave it in then to pay a tech to remove it

yep I'm with everyone else on this one. Best way to get air into the engine is just straight into the intake. Companies that claim there products create a vortex which helps mileage is utter B.S Don't waste your money -Mike-

I got 4 of them on my 07 it raised my hp from 145 to 195 its definitely worth the money.

When I shift gears people nearby have to put their hand over their ears because of the sonic boom noise it makes. Its truely a wonderful thing.

Could the Tornado cause lean readings? I've been fighting a P0171 and P0174 code since it was installed. Didn't put 2 and 2 together until today. Any thoughts?

Lean readings ... didn't you read the post from Mark98xlt, If you aren't getting sonic booms every time you shift i'd return that thing asap for your money back.

You probably have an intake leak somewhere. Could have easily been caused when someone put the POS tornado in and left something loose, ripped a hole in a hose, etc.
Or it could be an unrelated intake manifold gasket leak.

I had installed the Tornado years before negative reviews surfaced. I had read that the Tornado blocking the air inlet may be causing problems such as lean conditions. I'm just trying to eliminate the obvious first. I really had no drive-ability problems and have tried numerous little fixes to no avail. 4.0/ 99 Ranger
