Torx Bit size question...
Torx Bit size question...
So I went to remove the jump seats from my truck the other day and found 5 bolts.... and a torx.... bastards! So my question is does anybody know what size Ford generaly uses on these trucks? It looks like a T-60? I dont want to buy a whole set of these things so any help would be great. Thanks!
I believe it's a T-55 (or at least, they work). Isn't it the same size bolt that holds down the seats? I think it is. I just had my seats out and a T-55 worked.
In a Sears Hardware nearby, they had torx bits for a 3/8 ratchet in two different areas. The expensive ones were with the regular tools. The $5 bits were over with the automotive stuff. I bought the cheap ones.
The expensive ones were two-piece with a chromed base like a standard socket. The cheap ones were one piece with a black oxide finish.

just stick a flat head screw driver in there. if the bolt is too tight then go get a torx bit. ive never had to buy any new bits, always used a flathead and had no problems with getting the bolt out or back in. and my back seats are out.
Thanks John!
I'll see if a screwdriver will do that trick, but I got out my handy Craftsman catalog and I can get a set from T-10 - T-60 for 30bucks so I may just go that route if they are like 7 bucks each. I didnt want too but thats not a bad deal I dont think.
