3300 lbs i think

Basically a few different vehicles on the road system.

Also, towed a few diff vehicles. Sedans stuck in ditch in winter. Chevy 2500 out of a graveyard on a hill in winter. some trucks offroading(the easy stucks). And gotten stuck a bunch myself.

The engine, i like it. I'd like a 4.0 more though.

not sure about the weight... but i once had a Snapper riding mower in the bed + a full size trailer hauling another Snapper riding mower and other equip. went on a grass cutting venture to our mountain house, so it was about a total to and fro of 3 1/2 - 4 hours of driving like that. but the truck ran solid at 70 mph the whole way. if i had to guess... over 4,000 probably closer to 5

I once hauled a '75 Cadillac Coupe deville on a Car trailer. Not safe and would never reccommend it.

The most I feel safe towing in my ranger is my Ski Boat with an 85 horse merc. I have towed the family horse trailer empty, but I have a brake controller.

It.s not so much the weight as it is being stable and braking. THese brakes are not designed for these loads, and if the trailer starts to fish tail their is little to no cahnce of recovery. the axle is just too narrow and the supension is too soft.

4.0
4.10 gears

2000 2.5L
2x4 Auto
4.10 gears - stock wheels/tire size

Towed a 16' Lowe metal-bottom bass boat (estimated 1800 pounds?)

Currently pull my mower and lawn equipment around on a 4x6 trailer (former pop-up camper that my grandfather and I converted into a flat-bed trailer with fabbed angle-iron walls about a foot tall) (estimated 500 pounds?)

It all depends on the model package and aftermarket accessories.

I pulled a 10 foot U-Haul trailer literally loaded up to the CEILING with HEAVY stuff (my whole entertainment system, tall speakers, subwoofer, 42" TV) with a set of helper-springs with no problem, other than sluggish starts, on my way to move in my freshman dormroom.

I've also hauled my friend's Camaro Drag car on a flat-bed car-trailer like this one, but I don't recommend it with a 2.5L! :

Not me but my dad:
-2002 Ranger Stepside Extended Cab
-4.0SHOC
-4x4
-Over 4272 pounds
-A 23 foot fifth wheel Coachmen Captiva Ultra Light w/ a 4272lb. base (empty as it rolled off the show room floor) weight. I have no idea of the weight of the gear we had in it at the time, so I'm just giving the base weight, but I know that there was atleast 300 lbs. of water on the thing, and then the rest of our gear on top of that.

4.0 SOHC
4WD
5sp manual
3,500 lbs towed plus 800 lbs on the bed
Race car in enclosed trailer

My Ranger handles that with ease. The longest tow is round trip from California to Ohio. My hardest tow is round trip from California to Denver, over the Rockies.

I don't consider the area that I-40 traverses as the Rockies.

I have towed a 2000lb. 16' open trailer with an 800lb. load(1x). I have towed a 12' open trailer with a 60" Dixie Chopper many times(I do not know the weight.)
I have an '01 4.0 2wd

At my job we had an '02 3.0 2wd and many many many times it towed a 2000lb. 16' open trailer with a 800-1100lb. load all with a very loaded bed.
