There's an 04 4.0 ranger at work same exact as mine. Step Side. The only difference is that's it's a 5spd. I would pay $900 extra on top of trade in and just swap wheels. The mileage on the truck is 111,663 and I have 122k. You guys think this is worth it?

 

I don't really think its worth it by the time you pay for DMV fees and all that. And you don't know what the previous owner has done to it as far as beating on it. TrePaul has a great write up about a 5spd swap on here if you really want that.

 

Does the truck has a carfax or something like that?

I would give it a GOOD look over before making my final decision. With the problems that you have had with your truck lately, it might be worth considering.

Oh, btw, manual tranny FTW lol.

 

If you really want a manual trans I think a swap would be cooler.... for the satisfaction of doing it and then you get to keep your own truck!

 

I would have it inspected. Check it's maintenance record and carfax. Then just ask if you can swap all your mods to the new truck, lol.If you want a 5-speed, I say do it.

 

do it. didnt you have to repair your frame due to a rock or something?

UPDATE: Truck at work needs a new front end like mine it also needs a new bed. The foward most part of the bed against the bulkhead is rotten. I'm going to walk away from this truck
