Trading Down?

Ok, so the boat bug hit me at the beginning of the summer and I haven't been able to shake it. I found one today that I am thinking about buying, but I need a bit more breathing room in my budget if I pull the trigger on this. What I'm thinking of doing is trading the Ranger in on something cheaper, and a few years older (than an 02). Here's the kicker...it needs to be able to pull a 2500lbs. boat (obviously) and haul 4-5 adults and gear, as well as being a daily driver. It also needs to come in less than $10k. What kind of vehicle should I be looking for?

A diesel F250. I drove one for years and it had lots of pulling power and better economy than gas especially when towing. My brother's still using one as a DD.

They are cheap and you can find a relatively new one with decent miles (less than 60k) for 10,000 or less. I am not one to promote dodge, but this would be your best bet considering the money you are willing to spend....

Well, thanks for the input. I found another boat today that is half the price of the brand new one, and we like it better. The combined weight on it is just under 3k. 2000 Astro 18' fish-n-ski with a 115hp V6 mercury outboard. I put in the credit app today, so I should know something tomorrow.
