Transfer case

Hey guys I've got a 91 xlt 4x4 and I'm doing the 1 piece driveshaft conversion. I have the aluminum driveshaft out of a 2003 4x4, but I'm having problems finding a u-joint to swap the flanges from the bigger 1 to my smaller 1. So my question is can I pull the output shaft and flange off the 2003 rangers transfer case and put it into my 91 models?

Welcome to the forum

You have a BW1354 transfer case in a 1991 Ranger, 1990 and up Rangers

So yes you can change the rear flange to the 2003 size, same spline count
The Nut is torqued on to 150-180ft/lb so very tight
Then you will need a Puller to pull it off
I think you also need to change the seal size to 2003, but not sure
