is it true?
When I had my windows tinted, I wanted the sides to match the factory privacy glass in the rear. keep in mind that if you have the sides tinted and darken the back windows even more, it will have an effect on the sides and will make them look slightly darker.
As far as sun changing the effect of tint over time, im sure that happens but im not sure to what extent. Tint seems to be illegal everywhere but I've never been bothered for it. If I could do it again, I'd limo tint all the windows. if im gonna get a ticket for it, there may as well be a good reason for it.

from personal experiance, I think limo tint is too dark, Driving at night (especially wheeling at night) it becomes VERY hard to see unless the windows are open (I usually wheel with the windows open though).
35% looks way to light, you might as well not have tint on your car.
I think 20% is the way to go.
Limo tint (my old car)

and 20% almost looks the same as limo, but you can see out from the inside
