new to me 05 2wd Edge ?'s
Hi all, I have an '05 Edge, 3.0, auto, 4.10's , 8.8, Sonic Blue.
I believe I have a trailer/heavy load package. not sure, It rides really stiff, It has the #1 torsions and really heavy rear leafs, heavier than i have seen on other Edges. There is a trans cooler that looks OEM also.
It has 46K miles on it.
Riding on 235/75/15 tires, at first it road rough and did a little bump steer thing, Corrected by checking tire pressure, they had 45 psi in all tires.
Dropped it to 32 psi rides a lot better now.
Question #1
since there are so many tire wheel lift combos on here it is hard for me to determine OEM ride height. So what is the distance from lower A arm and bumper/stop? (my front is 3" lower than rear at fender wells)
Question # 2
Since this '05 Edge was bought with a 3mo./3k mile warrentee, i noticed that the temp gauge wasn't working after 2 days, took it in and the fixed it and did coolant pressure test and found bad water pump, replaced it also. That evening after this, the shaft of new water pump broke off and sent fan and all into the radiator, Not dealers fault with bad part), they installed new pump and radiator next day. Now I notice that A/C is not working. The compressor is not kicking on. No refridgerant. Scheduled to go back in friday. So far thay have been very good about problems.
Should they have checked A/C when they did radiator repair? Could the fan also have trashed the condensor when the fan went through it?
The good news I get about 18.3 MPG city(biased by being in shop for 1 1/2 days and idleing for radiator/pump gauge stuff) and 22.4 Highway (420 mile trip 65-75mph) Not bad IMHO.
This truck replaces a 94 ranger 2.4L 5 speed with 124K when totaled by Lil Ole Lady pulling out in front of me a couple of weeks ago. (biggest concern was her getting really hurt , she's OK though just bruises.)

Is it standard or extended cab?
It'll ride better under load, or with a boatload of heavy mods, lol.
I've lost the t-bars in favor of a coil SAS, but the F series bars were too weak for me and I put "B" series on. Yours are two or three stiffnesse above that.
Look on your door pillar sticker and there should be a field that says "SPG" or "SPRING" and a two character code. The first digit is the front rate, the second is the rear. Others can compare theirs to yours to help give you some meaning to what you're experiencing.
I'm guessing you have a "1C" code?
