damn i need a truck
So my rangers crank shaft is bent, and it'll cost 2000 and probly 2 weeks or more to replace it, i don't have any of the proper tools to swap an engine so i'm looking for a new truck, if anybody has a decent second generation ranger who lives in southern Pennsylvania or northern Maryland who wants to sell one for 1800 or less i would be interested, i can't find any decent trucks arond me for a decent price, they are wither beat to hell and or rusted out or have issues, sorry if this is the wrong place to post this, thanks.

you really can't expect much in ur price range that doesnt have damage or it needs work. I'd just try to fix it. I'm sure you could find someone with the right tools that will let you borrow them.
I got my 98 for 1k but i've put around 600 into it so far and now it needs new wheel bearings which are 200 each lol

who's john? well i found ONE truck, owned by a 73 year old man, saw it just got posted on the online merchandiser, 1992 4.0 5spd, he says its in really great body and interior shape, says the engine was overhauled at 120000 got 170000 on it now, has a topper so i can sell that and extra set of wheels with snow tires, only 2WD i wanted a 4WD but 2WD will do for now, probly going to check it out tonight, he's 73 so i doubt he went over 50 and he drove truck so im sure the clutch wasn't abused, and is a 93 compatible with my 89 or are the wiring harness the same except like the MAS or would i have to swap computers and completely re wire the truck? my girl friends cousin apparently has one that has an electrical problem which is apparently pretty serious since he's a mechanic, but i can get it for free and all i have to do then is give him the money from the scrap yard when i take it in.

I would simply broaden your search.
A couple hours south of you the trucks are less rusty too.
I've noticed a trend that densely populated urban area trucks go for less money than rural areas. Must have to do with people not working on their own junk.

you list a 92 and 93. which one is it? if the engine is different (2.3 to a 2.5) the wires would be too. also if it's a 93 it would be a 3rd gen. i'm guessing since you are asking about wiring for them then you'd be doing an egine swap from new truck to your's?
as for who is john, look up vwcat. he fixes and sells em' and might be able to help you.

he said its a 2.3 and is a 93 unless he was mistaken or my girl friend was wrong, wither way are the wiring harness compatible, or is it involve rewiring the tuck, I was planning on swaping the engine then selling the truck but i'm just going to take my time and wait until summer when it doesn't rain every other day, I did find one truck a 1992 3.0 5spd manual, its charcoal with the rally rims on it, so rust spots hear and the the owner prior to the seller really kept up on it, the interior is like new, it drives good, it just need a muffle and i need to charge the AC, the engine sounds good and no smoke, got it for 1600 it has 174000 miles and was overhauled at 120000 miles, picking it up Friday. I was just going to buy a glass pack since they are cheep and see how that works out to see how i like it since my old muffler wont work with how this trucks exhaust is set up. Can i put my K&N filter on with the MAF my previous truck didn't have one so i don't know much about them or anything,

idk, i hear about the crank shaft being bent from some people and others say they never heard of it, since i heard either its bent or you spun a bearing but heard i spun i bearing more i'm going with a spun bearing, I read that a spun bearing can happen from abusing the engine by runnin it in really high RPM (which i wasn't doing) or form the oil pump failing. and i heard (and idk if its true) that the oil pumps went out a good bit in some fords so that would explain a spun bearing i'm going hopefully going to be able to find out if the 93 2.3's wiring harnesses will be compatible with the 89's then i'm going to swap motors, since i can get the truck for free and then just give him the scrap money and i have access to a hoist now and i way to tow the other truck to my property do some bondo work on the roof since i'm keeping my visor and selling it and i'm selling my rims and tires
