well it happened
"Well Officer I am Deeply sorry It had to be this way but I was in fear for my life, and as soon as he reached into his jacket after threatening me I had to use my right as an American Citizen to protect my Life and Property."
Whos story would you believe Mine "The law abiding citizen on MY property who has never been in trouble a day in my life"
Or the dead criminal guy.
Besides Check this story out
Police investigate larceny and shooting | WAVY.com | Suffolk, Va.
Or the one about the store owner who was next door to his store drinking when he saw someone breaking into his store and he shot the guy through the window. That happened in the same city.
Any way plenty of lawyers on my side
Sorry about the thread hack.

"if you shoot them, and they make it outside before they die, make sure you pull them back into the house before we arrive, otherwise you could face a manslaughter charge, and make sure you shoot to kill, if you permanently disable them they can sue."
To the naked eye, i don't have much in my truck. my sub is under a false floor, and unless you know the floor of old style rangers actually goes deeper than the bottom of the jumpseats, it looks normal. i try and park in the last row of cars, so it just looks like im late. im usually so paranoid that i have to park it somewhere i can see it out the window.
You'd have to be completely ignorant to even attempt shooting someone for breaking into your vehicle. If you wanna be the poster child for stupidity with firearms and go to jail and then court for 2-3 years of your life, spend thousands of dollars, then more power to ya. Your firearm will be police property for at least a couple years, if not forever. I've read tons of stories about gun owners being found not guilty but never getting their firearm back. There's not "lots of lawyers" that are just gonna feel sorry for you and jump on board either. Judges aren't kind to people involved in shootings either, whether you were defending yourself or not. Plus if you shoot anyone, you better make DAMN SURE it was an obvious threat against your life, and they're DEAD in the first two shots. If not, you're getting sued later down the road, like it or not. THESE are the realities of living in America in this day and age.
As for the OP, you can thank the media for people using that antenna trick.

Thats why i stuffed a broken hockey stick end (the one you hold) in between my seat.
I could be wrong but im guessing you mean in your truck, and in the case some one is breaking into your truck, i dont see it doing much good there and possibly may hurt you if the thief decides to attack you with it.
I had a truck broken into because of the ****ty hasp on the sliding back windows... Bastards used something to pop it in and unlock it, stole my head unit, full cd case ( about 90 cd's) and my sun glasses. I had the cops involved, it was on base in front of the base gym and no one saw anything or heard anything, alarm went off and all, broad daylight. Insurance said the base would cover it, base said thats what insurance is for, bottom line, I got screwed.
I felt so violated the next time I drove the truck, it was to a dealership and bought a Jeep. I saw the truck a few weeks back and it looks the same as when I traded it in. It's been 15 years next month and still pisses me off...

gb thanks for the vid.. i might have to let the cop know about that so he actually believes me
and to who said i get to upgrade.. we'll see what insurance says.. but i dont think theyre going to give me enough money to cover everything i lost.
Aww man that bites man.
But teaches you to not leave alot of expensive stuff in your truck.
Me... i have my radio receiver, speakers, and that's about it, i take everything else in with me when im not in the truck.

trunk monkeys ftw. haha
ty, mind saying what your paying for that installed? you can pm if you want.
and i know, dont leave a lot of expensive stuff in my car. although college campuses and college security gave me a false sense of security. campus security needs to get its head out of its *** because the total number of cars broken into the same night as mine is now up to 12.. i never had this kind of problem at my old school. i know i cant really compare but come one.. really. on a a campus of 1200 you wouldnt think there would be this problem. the security here is a joke. they sent out an email saying they are going to patrol more but i havent seen it yet..

Mobile Watchman Car Camera Security Systems - Mobile Watchman EDR Complete System - Recommended | Event Data Recorder (EDR) | OBS, Inc. This will do the job. YEE-HAW!!!!!! Maybe a little expensive but look at what you lost & the property damages & it's a bargain. Also you can get a insurance reduction. If you lost a good gun like my "GOOD OLE, BIG ***" 1911 colt 45 then this is a bargain. It's a "no questions asked" solution to the problem. YEAH!!! Come to TEXAS and see how our gun laws are! "COME ON PARDNER & BREAK INTO THIS TRUCK TONIGHT & SEE WHAT HAPPENS".

A buddy of mine got a bunch of tools stolen out of his vechile, and his homeowners insurance covered the losses. Maby something to check into. Alot of times you are covered for rediculous things with insurance that you don't know you are paying for, just extra useless coverages that you will never use but they charge you for to suck the cash from you.
A garage owner that has a 2 bay garage was paying 2500 a year on insurance to cover if he dinged a car backing it out of his bay, even though he would never put it through insurance if he did damage a car (He ran a damn mechanic shop!)..
Just an example.
My sister was paying for coverage to pay for if she spilled a coffee on her seat, or tore upholstry etc, that she didn't know about..

i've never looked into an alarm before..pretty pricey but i think itll be worth it so it doesnt happen again.
my insurance is going to cover it. i hope. im waiting for a call from my adjuster but i think everything is going to be covered my comprehensive or something along the lines of that. i dont really know.
Conceal a baby glock on your ankle and strap an x26 (pistol grip civilian model) tazer to your side.. imo - if a situation in civilian attire requires the use of my weapon - I have time to reach for my ankle, its not like im clearing rooms or anything of that nature. If i'm in line at a store and i need to protect others or myself, i can take cover behind an object while crouching and access my pistol comfortably.
for many situations - a tazer is quite effective; unless you are being robbed up front (but that should be rare when someone sees a pistol grip on your waist)
Walk armed everywhere ya' go..it's the right thing to do :)

Michigan gun laws are pretty basic, with a permit (which i hope to obtain next year) you can carry anywhere except the basics, such as school, hospital what have you. i also have a false sense of security at my school, i haven't seen them make any kind of arrest for any of the violations i've heard about. all our security basically does is cruise around in a new Escape and write parking tickets.
heres a good one for ya.
