What to do next?

I won't bore you all with the details of my rig, as you can read my sig for that. I am looking for ideas on what to do next. I have about $1000 to spend right now and am considering the following ideas:

1. Locker, or limited slip differential since my truck has an open Diff right now.

2. 3" body lift

3. Upgrade the stock stereo and speakers

4. K&N air intake (instead of my drop-in with the airbox mod)

I do light offroading mostly on sand at our lovely california beaches, and my truck is my daily driver. I am leaning towards a limited slip differential, either the Eaton Posi or the Auburn Pro series limited slip. I am not sure if I can get the ECTED and installation for under $1000.

What would you guys do if it was your rig?

Auburn ECTED and install it yourself! And then maybe a new headunit if you've got extra cash.

new rear end, do what Griggs did, Auburn Ected in an 8.8 31 spline rear and re-gear. He used a lv2 rear I'm pretty sure, but if you can get ahold of one I'd get a Explorer8.8 so you get rear discs. Depending where you find your parts at you should be able to come in right around 1k.

knock that stuff ^ out before you get a body lift and want to go to bigger tires because you'll eventually need to regear anyway and while everyhting is being taken apart do everything.

You could probably get the ECTED unit for 600, and then install would be 400 tops, probably in the 250 range. I'd definitely do that.

I got ECTED quotes from two local shops, and they are both around $1100 installed. I live in the middle of nowhere, and everything is expensive here. My Westin Safari bar was $450 installed. That is ridiculous!!! I actually ended up doing it myself.

Am considering the ECTED still, or the Eaton E-Locker, both are around the same price, but that is a lot of money, so I am a little concerend about whether the additions will be worth it.

A head unit, and satellite reciever quoted from two local shops were between $500 and $600 installed, and that is with stock speakers.

Perhaps a Bama Tuner, and a K&N Intake would be my best bet?

I sure would like at least a Limited slip differential. Perhaps I will go with the Auburn Limited Slip, and the K&N. I probably could do without the Selectable locker.

I am confusing myself needless to say.

What headunit? If you order one from crutchfield it gives you everything you need to install it besides twist caps for the wires.

To make a long story short...

what are twist caps?

Do you see what you are dealing with? I build computers, and engineer security systems for Nuclear plants and infrastructre. I have never had the opprotunity to learn to do anything automobile related. I don't even know how to get my old headunit out.
