what do you guys think about this truck
Ok, well I was bored and thought I'd look to see if there was any good deals on rangers, just for fun. and I found this one and this thing is freaking sweet in my opinion. has everything I want in a ranger. it has 40,000 miles less than my truck, its a 4.0L its a 2002, sonic blue. electric everything and there asking 5,995 for it, it almost seems like whats wrong with it, but from the pictures it looks super clean. The one thing I noticed is that it looks like it has a body lift or something b/c from the pics its sitting kinda high, but I'm not complaining that would be a bonus if that was a BL.
But should i even think about this? I won't be able to do many mods considering I'm saving for college. and i seriously would hate to ever see my truck being driven by someone else.

6g's for 120k I dunno...looks in really good shape though. Nice truck too. maybe 5k with those miles.
My 2002's got over 250k on it and when my dad tried to trade it in on his new one the dealer offered him scrap value. And that's how I got my 2002. LOL

Sorry for some reason sonic blue was going through my head.
I bought my truck with 145,000 miles on it. it would take me 5 years to get that truck to where my truck is today mileage wise.

If I went and looked at it I would ask 5,500 I wouldn't settle for that price.
but in that 5 years...will your truck cost you $6K? Or during that 5 years would you rather save and buy something with lower miles that will better suit your needs then?
I am in this same predicament...in school, truck is getting up in the miles...but must wait till i graduate and get a job before getting anything else just to save money and not put any more money into my truck

Gotta consider that truck is now 7 years old and has 120k on it. $6000, if you make payments, will be paying it off for 2 or 3 years most likely. By then you're still making payments on a 9 or 10 year old vehicle, which IMO is not worth it.
I made that mistake. I bought a 1998 Cadillac in 2007. Was going to make payments on it for 28 months. Owned the car 7 months before the motor blew up and ripped the whole front of the engine off.

that was one clue to me to.
if your truck still suits your needs fine and doesnt have anything wrong with it, save your money and finish school
my plan is to eventually get an 02+ xcab 4cyl 5spd 2wd .... 2.3l duratec ftw (i dont buy new vehicles)

I wouldn't do it man. That truck is ugly compared to yours. I don't like that bright island blue, no offense to those that own trucks in that color.
I'm confused as to why you guys are all so scared of high mileage vehicles! Yeah, they may require maintenance (balljoints, etc), but that's cheaper than trading in for a new vehicle all the time. I'm not scared of the fact I've got 95k on my 01, 94k on my SVT, and 98k on my 98. None of them have any problems at all (knock on wood). My family has put over 200k on 3 ford vehicles in the past 2 years without any major trouble at all.
