look on the side wall for what is called the DOT the last 4 digits of the i believe 8 digit code are the date they were producted. the first 2 are the week(out of 52) and the last 2 are the year for example 2104= 21st week of 2004 Some cracking is normal, b/c the tire is slowly drying out over time. But cracking is a sign of dry rotting like said before. Doesnt look Dangerous yet.

well that means that my tires are from june of 2000 and judging by the cracks that seems about right. they sat on an old f150 in my buddies driveway for years. still about 70% tread and i payed $120 for all four on some wagon wheels(5x5.5 though)

Wow, so yeah.. they are over 8 years old. I think it may be the age especially if they were left out in the sun and weather most of that time.

agreed, usually if a tire makes it to 10 years old w/o being bald its time to replace. AKA your prob ready to do that now

I think you should put some of that slime tire sealant or similar in your tires, or atleast that tire so that that wont happen again. Should hold them long enough for you to get new tires.

dont use fix A flat!....all it does it corrode your aluminum rims or eat away at the paint coating on your steel rims. If you were in a bind and needed something for a weekend to get home its your choice. But personally I wouldnt touch that stuff ever. It does more harm than good in the long run.

Ok well ignore what I said lol

I have never used that stuff in anything other then wheels on utility vehicles and stuff like that.

I dont remember you saying someone let the air out so I was thinking it was the cracks caused a slow leak. I hate when people do stuff like that. Someone did that to a friend at school, they let the air out of 2 of the tires.
