once you buy it, make sure to sell it for a good price to someone on the site with a 4x4... cuz that's what the superlift 4" lift is for.. :)

i was thinking that alot of it has to do with the fact that rangers arent really commonly modified. compared to the sheer amount and variety of available aftermarket items for something like an f-150 or a wrangler, the supply market for rangers is more like an island kiosk in the mall of america (you can write that down and put a dash and my name after it). since theres less options and availability of well known, easily obtained, and easily installed mods, i think those select few who customize their rangers are consequently more resourceful, open minded, and technically inclined. these characteristics are reflected in our personalities, and what results is a community to be proud of.

I wouldnt call myself technically inclined. heh... for me, well i got the ranger cause my rich neighbor leased one identical to mine for $100 a month, and dads like, if u cant affrod 100$ am onth for a new truck u have major financial issues. heh. so we got lookin.. make a long story short that dude put like $4,000 down, to get that price, i put $0 down and got it for $248 a mo.. ok, so, the idea behind this was, as follows:'

new, nice looking, under warranty, usable and above all, affordable. then after i got it... i got on ebay LOL and well, dad has rejected almost everything on my truck, but then restated it was all his idea. go figure.. but now im getting the "we got u into this truck as a cheap transportation under warranty, not to pour all ur money into" LOL oops. i missed that part...

anyways, it appears, that most of the ranger owners, do not really care for the vehical above and beyond oil changes. what sets ranger owners apart mostly is the fact that it is a fairly well built truck, and can handle more than what one would expect... take that guy that rolled his and then drove it home as an example. while thats all good and dandy, another big point here is that most of us are youngins, or old err um, people, that are cheap... come on ur cheap u know it, u dont wanna pay a premium for something thats loaded with more plastic. a ranger is a good buy, its small, cheap by comparison to other vehicals, and smaller, in some respects thats unfortunate, however it keeps the price down, it also hasd a good sporty end of it which i think apeals to the youngins, and has the ability to get dirty without breaking the bank.

so ya, those of us who have rangers i feel have a respect for their vehical that goes above and beyond your average joe. why have a F150 with $20K in mods to make it lok good, when u can have a range with $2K in mods that can do just about the same thing, and cost 1/10 the price. heh...

we're a cheap breed that enjoys quality over quanity.

texas didn't look that good. i wouldn't be bragging about that game. and the qb can kiss the heisman goodbye after that game. better luck next year.

that being said, i hope tu kicks colorados bootie and then wins the rose bowl.

oh yeah, this was about ranger owners, eh?

i like the argentinian rangers the best. those guys are cool. i bet other big truck websites don't have those guys on it. so there.

i agree with this, we are all about the same age and we bought our trucks for ourselves. and because im pretty sure none of us are multimillionaires, the rangers come up with some pretty unique mods. like the airbox mod, its simple when you look at it, but think of how many people have done it!

trev im not stupid! my plans this summer are a 5.0 AWD swap which is the same setup as 4x4 just with a different transfercase and also when I get more money after the superlift i'm getting an f150 or exped selectable transfer case...

gosh i guess ranger owners jump to conclusions way to fast???

I think what makes us different is the fact that we bought our trucks for the most part not because the price or differences in options or paint color etc... I believe that most here if not all buy because of these reasons:
1. Its a Ford!!!!
2. We believe that we are buying the best from factory, and with a little work these trucks can, so to say, be made our own.
3. We want a sporty truck that isn't too "pretty" like many of the other trucks out there.
4. We don't let the fact that we don't have these full size trucks and V8s and all that other stuff bother us. We have the attitude that our Rangers are as every bit as capable if not better than anything else out there.....

For me, I've always had a deep sence of appreciation for my truck... no matter how stock she may be... because I know that one day, even with my minumum wage job and nagging parents, I'll be able to make her into something really nice. Ever since I got my truck I've always been pretty defensive about it. Like she's my baby. You can do crap to my house, you can say crap to me, but you mess around with my truck or "kick my dog" and it's freakin' ON! And having a community of people here that enjoy working on their trucks or just keeping them as clean as possible is nice to have as a back-up. I agree that we are down-to-earth kind of people, HOWEVER, some of the previous posts seem to skim over all the "other" kind of people on here. There are some real punks on here and GE and I'm sure you all know it. I guess there's always some like that in every community though. But besides those few, this place really seems to be a community of freidns, regardless of who lives where or how old someone is.

Simple. We don't have 25 inch wheels and 16 TV screens in our seats and 24 karat gold paintjobs to impress other people when in reality every crazy (insert stereotype here) with lots of money and very little brains has one.
