In 1997 there is a WOT(wide open throttle) relay, but it passes 12v to the compressor's clutch when AC switch is ON, WOT relay is only there to turn OFF the compressor when driver needs more power with AC on

Power for AC Clutch runs like this

Fuse #18 in cab fuse box-----------------------AC switch on dash-----------------low pressure switch------------high pressure switch-----------------WOT relay----------------AC clutch--------ground

WOT relay is 5 pin model, so it passes the 12v when it is off, only cuts power when its on, so unless its broken jumping it won't help

If you are low on "freon" maybe low pressure switch is OPEN so no 12v at the WOT relay and AC Clutch

Thanks for the help but I managed to jump the low pressure switch to activate the compressor and I added Freon. And it worked for a bit and the compressor kept turning on and off. Later that day when I turned on the truck, the compressor wouldn’t kick on. So I’m confused.

Not sure why you would be confused?

Either you have a leak or original system problem was not being low on "freon"

Google: automotive ac diagnosis

Loads of videos and how-tos

You can rent pressure gauges for testing

The outside temperature at your location is IMPORTANT when testing pressure, chart here: https://www.autozone.com/landing/pag...charge-auto-ac
