in alot of vehicles theres a push button on the door jamb. However on my 04 this push button isnt prssent. so where is the switch?

 

its in the area on you door where the latch is

 

its in the latch assembly

 

yep, it's inside the door frame attached to the door latch.

 

well thats poopy... guess I wont be tapping into that.

 

what are you trying to tap? you can pull the door panel and trace the wire back to under the kick panel, or tie into it at the dome light.

 

Why - it worked for me when I did my LED strips under my door. Used a transistor and no problems what so ever.

 

This is a really old thread lol but I’m having the same problem in my 2008 fx4. what part/piece would I have to buy to replace that the dome light registers when I open the door so it works? All other doors work fine. Thanks
