Where to find good headers and a y pipe for a 3.0 liter 1996 Ranger?
Where to find good headers and a y pipe for a 3.0 liter 1996 Ranger?
I do know that JBA makes a few different sets of headers for the 3.0, but jiminey freaking christmas, they're well over 700 bucks for one set!!!!!

I mean, it's just a Ranger, right? Who the heck needs/wants headers that expensive on their Ranger anyways? I wouldn't... the rest of the truck isn't quite up to par in terms of looks to put that kind of money into a set of headers.
Any of us could probably do a 302 swap for less than these headers cost!!!
Problem with the 302 is the possible loss of gas mileage... I bet it would drop a fair bit from 20 or so to 15 or less... not something I really want in a truck that I drive daily...
Obviously the quality of the JBA's is bar none and they are made out of SS, but holy crap...
I'd be willing to put a cheaper set on with the y pipe... just to get rid of the leak and get some performance at the same time...
My Ranger's got an exhaust leak thanks to a half assed O2 sensor replacement job. The y pipe is pretty much worthless now. I figure I might as well go to a better set up in hopes to free up a little power (31's and 3:73's with a 3.0L probably ain't the best set up, could use a little more grunt to keep highway speeds more consistent in 5th)
It sounds kinda like a diesel truck.
Dump truck might be the way to describe what it sounds like inside the cab...
I'm not in a real hurry to get this done, I just would like to know about a source with headers/y pipe that are not so expensive and hopefully will provide a performance gain as well. And have an idea of about how much I need to set aside for the headers.
If nothing comes up, then I just might make my own headers and y pipe using the factory style flanges going to the cats and the ones from the manifolds to the y pipe...
