Whirring noise in transmission pan
Hey all,
2005 Edge 3.0, auto. I replaced my transmission valve body a couple days ago with a reman body, to see if that would address the transmission refusing to downshift on the highway and soft-shifting on the way up. It did (at least, it shifts now, just not particularly promptly) but it is also now making this noise. (Please see attached video file) I'm very sure it was not making this sound before; I don't hear it when I'm actually driving, but that could just be on account of road noise, loud crickets (they're nuts out here) etc. When stationary, I put it through everything from P to 1 and still hear it. The truck is shifting fairly well, smoothly most of the time and only a little slow to downshift when I hit the gas. I think - though not really sure, it's hard to tell - that the sound is slightly louder at the back of the pan than at the front, but I'm honestly not sure. It's audible from the driver's seat with the window down. Anyone have any thoughts on what this could be?
When installing the valve body, I did follow a bolt pattern and torque specs, and I inserted each bolt into a pre-made cardboard map to put the exact bolt went where it came from. Definitely open to having made a major mistake, but just wanted to clarify.
Thank you for your help!
