Try using the term 'auto recycler' and look in the yellow pages.
And if you're looking for a you-pull-it , make sure you call first. Some places won't allow you in the yard for insurance purposes.

I was the same way couldn’t seem to find anything good then out of no where I find a JY that has sssooo many Cash for clunker Vehicles it was surprising.
This JY just got a few more vehicles in last week and more coming; funny how things work.

i thought the C4C vehicles didnt go to salvage? i thought they were seized and destroyed to stimulate new car purchaces as well as parts purchaces. i dont know i could be wrong

 

the engines are destroyed but the rest gets salvaged

 

Then can you please go find me a Ranger 2wd, silver radio bezel, with fog lights for my twin stick setup.

Edit: I was messing around on car-parts.com and found this yard. They have a lot of rangers, if you're still looking for your level 2 console they have 2 of them.

oh okay, i still think thats stupid, but we are talking about C4C so it makes sense

 

in the KC area, all C4C vehicles had to be crushed 180 days after they were destroyed. (or so the JYs told me)

I got my seats out of one while it was sitting in the scrap yard waiting to be crushed.

 

I don’t think they make a Silver Radio Bezel, maybe an Explorer 2WD might but I have never seen one.

C4C, the main reason for the C4C is to get high milage vehicle off of the road.
To keep them off the road the engines have a chemical added to the oil and then run, it destroys the engine BUT all of the parts can be sold.

Me too on the 180 days but there is a LOT of leeway in the time period.
The JY I deal with over 400 vehicle and there is no way to crush them all.

Buy what you need when you see it because the vehicles may not around for long.

and the purpose of C4C was to stimulate auto purchaces, even though the big thre at that time had little to no cars in stock to sell, meaning more people bought foreign cars, not domestics like the plan hoped. also destroyed the market for used cars, causing dealerships to close, reduing jobs. but i dont want to argue politics here.

 

It destroys the insides of the engine.

Yeah they do... 01-03 2wd XLT's had them and some had the fog light hole with the 2 power points. Also SporTrac's had them as well... I believe til 03 in the 2wd version with the silver coloring.

 

I've found some 01-03 2wds with them but none of them have the fog light holes. I don't think I can cut the fog light hole nice enough to satisfy myself or I'd buy one. The one with fog light holes but be really rare. I'm also way to picky to take one out of an Explorer or a Sport trac cause they either have the rear wiper switch or the rear power window switch in them and I'm going for the factory look. I'm half tempted to go buy a black bezel and try to get some factory color matched paint and paint it but I know it'll just get all scratched to hell and I'll be touching it up constantly.

When I get back to the JY I will look around but I don’t remember any.
There was a couple of Sports, maybe they have it and I didn’t notice he 2x4 or 4x4.

mine is dark silver. it has a cutout for 4wd, 1 cig lighter and 1 access. plus it has the passenger side airbag light.
