Wipers not clearing windshield

So i have a 2006 ranger sport my windshield wipers dont clear the rain off the windshield on the downwards swipe, thinking the wipers were shot i bought new ones. However that did not fix the problem, does anyone else have this problem and if so what did you do to fix it. Any help would be great as i need to fix this somehow.

Clean the windshield with dish soap and water and wipe the wiper blade off with rubbing alcohol. also, pull the wipers away from the windshield and set them back down. is there a good amount of spring tension? do the wipers contact the winsheld the entire length of the blade?

they are 18s and theres good spring tension. Like the wiper clears the windshield good and clean on the way up but on the way down its almost like it gets bent at the top and is not touching half of the windshield on the way down.

sounds like the wiper arms need to be replaced.

Are you using winter blades with the rubber covering , and does this happen mostly at highway speeds ?
If so , it's the airflow pushing them off the glass .
One thing to try is a shorter blade and/or summer wipers .
Next , being carefull , is to pull the arm away from the glass , and slightly bend it in the middle as if you're moving the blade closer to the windshield. This will put a little more tension on the arm spring.
Now go buy some rain-x . And use only rain-x washer fluid. The cheap blue stuff just removes the rain-x so you have to re-apply every two weeks.
