Would you buy a new Ranger?

So with all my problems and constant b!tching about my truck do you think it would be wise for me to buy a new Ranger? I would get an auto FX4 4 door. My main problems with my truck is that the slave cylinder constantly needs to be changed and I hate not having power windows and locks. I b!tch about not having space in the cab but honestly I don't need it. 99% of the time I'm alone in my truck. Internet price for a new FX4 with everything is 23K. What do you guys think?

Go find one that is like 1 year old. You will get it for more then half off of that.

I would got a used one under factory warranty. I could justify buying a new one to just start modding the crap out of it and have the value of it drop like a lead ballon while my payments are more than the truck is worth.

06 FX4 is 16K with unlisted mileage. That's the only FX4 I found.

Go for it. Buy an 06-08. Prices are stupid cheap, however you might even get a crazy cheap deal on a brand new one.

My dad paid $25k for his 08 B4000 in June last year. Like last month I looked in the paper and they were selling brand new 08s for $18k LOADED (power everything, where my dad's is basic, no power options). That's a $7000 price difference for the same truck.

Do some comparative shopping and see what kind of deals you can find.

Don't want or need long travel. It has to be my daily driver.

I would go for an 02 fx4 level II with the lowest miles you can find. Only reason for that is because the 08's sit so low.

I would not buy older or with more miles than what I have for a daily driver. I'm at 118K. The engine is fine its just the stupid tranny.

heck yea fx4 auto ftw! There is a beauty here in arkansas wish you where closer. I think your truck was a bad apple. Mines an 02 with 40 k and hasn't had a single problem.

I agree with Ben,yours is a bad apple. I'm over 250k with only regular maintenance.

You'll be safe with the auto, because you're not going to beat on it or anything. Just check prices. If you can afford it, then go for it.

I don't think I'd buy another mid-sized pickup. I like it and all, but I would have to take the power, room, towing, and the rest of a full size. Not to mention a better aftermarket for lifts and such.

Well technically the Ranger is a mini truck. A mid size would be a Taco, Frontier/Equator or Colorado. Id prefer a Taco but they are just so damn expensive.

Tacos are great but pricey. A Ranger is relatively cheap and have a proven record. You're a member on here so you know the major things we all complain about on rangers.

Getting an automatic will solve one of the most annoying and expensive problems. The 4.0 SOHC is a great motor (406 000km - 250+k mi on mine and still going strong).

I think the majority of us on here are very happy Ranger owners. After the good experience I've been having with mine, I would most definetly buy another one.

Hmm for some reason i dont like the ones. like 07+..

I know this is bias since i own one of them. But if i were to get another ranger it would be the same one i have.. A lvl II with twin sticks just lower miles.. I love the 02 - 03 body style the best to.

I think tacos are way over priced.. what you can get a fully loaded F-150 for a TACO price.. plus tacos dont last forever anymore im sorry to say there motors are no different than whats in my ranger.. they last as long as they last.

And i am not an automatic fan at all but thats just me. even if we have weak tranny it still works wonders for me. i say its all in the driver - not saying your a bad driver.

EDIT:

There are like 5 Fx4's at my local dealer out here. I was just there today. I think i say an 07 06 04 and 03. plus two more at the chevy dealer.. utah and fx4 FTW

Oh ok, I thought you go to the dunes sometimes. What about F150's? There's a ****load more F150's then there are Rangers, you could probably find a nice one modded a little for a decent price.
