Your input is wanted!

So as many of you know I have a 3" Body Lift on my truck currently. Well I was contentent with it for a while but not so much anymore. All it really did was bump me up to a 4x4 ride height. I'm thinking about doing 3" spindles/shackles also but I have a few concerns.

1) I really dont want to buy new tires. How dumb do you think it would look with my current tires?
2) Is my truck even worth the $$ to keep doing stuff to it?

So those are my concerns. What do ya say? Yes er no?

1) What size are your current tires?
2) Only you can answer that question. Mileage, gas prices, how long you plan on keeping the truck, etc.

Bottom line though, it is your truck. As far as what other people think, who cares.

The tires are P255 70R16 Bridgestone Dueler H/Ts. And I ask because I want to hear if other people are satisfied with spending the money for a spindle lift or if the cons out weigh the pros for it. ie, would you rather have spent the money on something else?

It's your truck but I hunk the tires would look kinda small

Get you four floor jacks and jack the whole truck 3 inches off the ground to give you an idea what it would look like with your current tires

IMO, it would look silly with those size tires. I would step up to at least 265/75's if you lift more.

1. Yeah I think those tires would look kinda small with more lift.

2. To me this question is sorta irrelevant. We modify our trucks and dump money into them because we enjoy doing so. Not because we'll ultimately get some sorta financial return outta it. It brings us a form of happiness or maybe satisfaction. Cause, honestly if you felt differently then this, then you'd be content driving around in a stock Ranger and more then likely would never bother with an online forum.

I figured the tires would look a little off. I just dont want to buy new tires cus I got these like a year and a half ago. And thats a great idea 04ranger4x4. I'll try the jacks when I go back home.

I'm not wanting to do this to make the truck worth anymore money or anything. I just want more lift cus its bad ***. Buuuuut I'm also a poor college student so it complicates things... Guess we'll see what I end up doing soon enough right?

[I] think you should try 04ranger 4x4's idea and put it on jacks to judge for yourself about the tires and ride height, also its not weather we think the truck is worth doing the lift and tires to its the question of do you think the truck is worth dong it to. If you get the parts keep all your old parts and try it for a while, if you decide its too over kill then put it back to the way it used to be and sell the spindels on kijiji or e bay etc etc!

Well you said you wanted everybody's input so here goes...save your money, pay off your college loans and expenses, you'll need money to get a place to live. Throwing your money away on junk like jacking up a truck is ridiculous. Nobody cares about how high your truck is lifted. It just doesn't matter. If you want to throw your money away, go right ahead, nobody will stop you.

Something to consider as far as new tires are concerned.

I sold my stock tires, and rims, for $500.

Then bought new (used) tires and rims on Criagslist. Then found out the hard way, that the rims, of the 'new' tires wouldnt fit. So bought new rims, and sold the old rims...

Total out of pocket expense: About $200. To go from 265/70/16 to 32x11.5x15

And got new rims out of the deal.

A lot of stuff has been said, but in case youŽll find my comment usefull I will tell you that for smaller engines (Like ours) there is a balance between tires that looks good and tires that just convert this little trucks into gas guzzlers.

I found this in the hard way with other truck that I had. From my point of view your current 3" lift and your current tires gives to your truck the "off road" appearance that you originally was looking for.

Going further wont make your truck more off road capable and belive me: your mileage will sucks.

Its about finding a balance, a mid point between looking good and functionality.

Good luck

Thanks for the input everyone! Been thinking a lot the last few days and I think I'm just gonna keep the truck where it is. I wish it was a few inches higher but there's always something right? I'm a full time student and when I graduate I will have to upgrade to a larger truck anyways. I think I'm gonna put my money into my other passion: Aquariums! :)
