03 Ranger VSS

Where all does our truck have it's VSS(s)? And if it has more than one can it operate without one or the other? Thanks in advance!

98~2000 Rangers use the rear axle ABS sensor for the vehicle speed signal.

2001+ get the raw VSS from the Output Shaft Speed sensor on the transmission. If you have an automatic, it will not shift properly without the vehicle speed input to the PCM.
