07 Sohc wiring harness conversion

It's been a while since I've logged on. So howdy everyone good to be back. I have recently aqquired an 07 sohc to replace the 03 I originally installed a while back into my ranger. However the wiring harness has 3 connectors to the pcm and 2 connectors to the main body. I don't know exactly which year they changed this. I'm trying to come up with the year pcm and wiring harness required to make it compatible. Will any 01-06 harness due? I know I'll need to find one with similar connectors (egr, sensors, etc).

If you are swapping 4.0l SOHC engines just keep original wiring and swap over lower and upper intakes.

Even if you find 2007 harness you will have to re-pin some connections as they can change yearly, even mid-year

Then leave them, and use '03 harness you have now

Maybe I am misunderstanding what you are doing.

When you swap the same model engines('03 4.0l SOHC out, '07 4.0l SOHC in) you always use the original harness, '03, unless it has been damaged and you have to use a different harness, no benefit in rewiring

Upper and lower intakes are where most wires terminate, and over the years connectors change, so fuel injectors may use different connectors on '07 than '03 did, same wires just different connectors, same for any engine connectors

I just done a 03 to 09 swap. Check out my thread , lots of good information in there from the guys. You won't need any of the new harness just the engine itself.
