1988 ranger crank initial spark but stops sparking after
i have been helping a couple friends work on mention ranger. they have thrown a ignition coil and distributer at the truck. what would cause the first turn over to have spark and it to lose it afterwards? is the distributor out of time causing a safety thing to stop it from sparking or something else? thank you for any help

Sounds like it could be the crankshaft position sensor
