1993 ford ranger stx
My 1993 ford ranger has no running lights, I can pull the light switch on and make the running lights come on, when I pull it all the way out to turn headlights on, the parking lights go out and I have no brake lights or running lights, I’ve changed the headlight switch, brake light switch, checked all fuses, none blown , my abs light blinks 16 times, can anyone help ?
Welcome to the forum
I don't have a 1993 wiring diagram but do have a 1994
Fuse #10, 15amp in the cab fuse box powers both parking and brake lights
Shows a Tan/white wire from fuse for parking light power to head light switch, and then Brown wire out of switch for all parking lights
Brake lights use Light Green/Red wire from fuse to brake light switch, and same color out to each brake light bulb
If parking lights and brake lights work when main light switch is off, then fuse is fine
Light switch is the main junction for parking lights but there is no connection to brake lights except #10 fuse.
"New" light switch just means its NEVER been tested, you are the first human to touch it, so grain of salt that "new" anything will work correctly out of the box.
Only other things they have in common are the ground wires in the rear of vehicle, but that wouldn't effect front parking lights or 3rd brake light on cab.
And trailer wiring, which can be a butchered job, lol, from previous owners, but would expect blown fuses or lights not working at all anytime.
