1993 Ranger runs but getting too much gas

I have a 1993 Ford Ranger V6 4.0L. It stays running but its getting way too much gas. There's black smoke coming out of the exhaust and you can smell it very well. The fuel pump kicks on and off properly. I have put a new mass flow sensor on it and was thinking about replacing the throttle sensor.

Any suggestions would be very helpful.

Sorry I cant be of more help...but did you hook it up to an obdII code reader? That would probably help you pinpoint exactly whats wrong with it.Then you dont have to throw parts at it and spend $$ you dont have to. Some auto stores will do it for free...or you could get a reader off amazon for like $20-$50, its a good tool to have.

Check your O2 sensor, clean your throttle body. Also, replace your plugs if you haven't already done so. My truck ran fine with 142k on the factory plugs, but sucked up way too much gas.
