1999 Ford Ranger Cruise Control

Hey guys,
I bought this 1999 Ford Ranger 4.0L, V6. Great running truck.
It has what looks like an aftermarket cruise control on it and it doesn't work.

Can some of you "experts" please take a look at the pictures and see if anyone can make sense of it and give me an idea of what to do.

Thanks again from this "nubbie".
David

Thanks for the reply guys....
I looked at the posts you all sent and by consistant vote, I think the best idea is to disconnect it and let the trash-man pick it up on Tuesday.
