2000 Ranger ABS and Brake Light On

2000 Ranger 3.0 2wd RABS: The ABS (yellow) and Brake (red) lights come on after the brake pedal is pressed. I looked for the ABS connector to try to read codes. Still haven't found it. So I drove the truck to Advance Auto to read the ABS codes from the DTC connector. Their code reader said there are no ABS codes. I'm not real familiar with ABS and could use some help how to troubleshoot this. Thanks.

Here's link from a few weeks back that might help (search RWAL, anti lock brakes, brake light on, etc):

Thanks Rev. I did read that thread, and it is very similar to mine. Except I do not have a code. Anyway I started looking on Ebay for an abs valve. Couldn't find one on advance auto site, and can't get to a junk yard for awhile.

Also try searching "Brakes, etc" and users "n3elz" and or "rwenzing". I know this topic has been discussed in past threads years ago.

In the mean time I'll see if I can dig up some of my old manuals and find something for you. Might take a few days...

Here is the wiring diagram.

Update
I was told by a few Ford dealers that no dealer in the US stock the ABS Proportioner Valve. So then I tried parts stores...no luck there either. Looked on EBay and found a few similar but was told by the sellers they would not work on my 2000 Ranger (I think maybe because the mounting bracket was different). After 3 junk yards I found one.

After I installed the valve, bled the brakes the lights are out. The lights would come on when I pushed hard on the brake pedal, whether in park or gear. So far the lights stay out no matter how hard I push on the pedal. So it seems like it was an easy fix...but difficult to locate part. I wish I could of gotten a new valve instead of a used one.

Anyways it seems all is good with the ABS for now. Thanks for the help Rev.
