2000 ranger factory running lights/fog lights

My 2000 ranger does not have them,BUT the wiring is there. Even the wireing in the dah for the switch.
What I am wondwring is if I buy the switch and fog lights..will they work? The truck is apart getting v8.swapped.or I could test the wireing and see if it hot or not
