PCM & fuel relay busted by cutoff switch

I've been following a problem using the dealer for months. First the fuel relay was fried. It's a '04 3.0L auto. With 100k miles went ahead and replaced the fuel pump. Soon after engine light on again, a different dealer replaced PCM. Light on again. I followed and found the fuel cutoff switch (stupidly placed where passinger's feet are) to have a bare wire randomly touching the painted firewall. Dealer says the switch replacement is totally different with a special protection for wiring. Change this or it burns things! I'll do it for $100 in parts.
