No power .. help

Hello
New here. I've been Googling and checking Youtube but not finding an answer.
I have a 1994 Mazda B4000 4x4 - manual is that matters (made by Ford but Mazda name on it - or so I'm told)
Starter went out. Neighbor helped me put in the new one and he did the work. I go to start the truck and there huge spark so I turned it off and let it sit. (shamefully)
So .. after a few months I get under the truck myself. Drop the starter and swap the wires. Batter is dead so I buy a new one and install it.
I have no power. No headlights or anything. I talked to the guys at the auto parts store and they said it could be my main fuse.
My problem is .. finding where the main fuse is and how to get to it. i can't seem to locate the damn and all the Google images aren't helping.at all.
BTW .. I did install the battery correctly and all the connections are solid. I made sure to double check those.

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum

Yes, 1994 thru 2010 Ford built the Mazda B-series trucks in the USA on the Ranger platform, same running gear, frame and drivetrains, body, interiors and badges were different

"Main Fuses" are in the engine bay fuse/relay box

`You can download your 1994 Mazda B-series Owners manual here: https://www.therangerstation.com/for...manual.184845/
Yes, in sections, but its complete, lol

The 5-1 to 5-21 section has BOTH Fuse box "maps"

Engine bay fuse box fuse #1 is the Main fuse, 60amp, it sends power to the ignition switch which then sends power to other systems/fuses in the cab fuse box with Key ON

But your description of "sparks" is troubling, you could have burnt out a wire or two that FEEDS power to the engine fuse box, so changing fuse wouldn't matter
So get out the test light or Volt meter
Pull out fuse #1 and test for 12volts at BOTH of its terminals inside the fuse box, one should show 12volts all the time(battery connected)
If no 12volts then a wire is bad

If there is 12v then replace the 60amp fuse and turn on the key, you should now have dash lights

Bad wire
On the starter relay on inner fender a battery positive cable is connected to one of the larger posts, that post is the 12volt power distribution point for the whole vehicle
There should be at least 2 other wires connected to this larger post
Main power wire runs to the engine fuse box, powers ALL FUSES in the vehicles
Other wire is from Alternators B+ terminal, charges battery and powers all fuses while engine is running

The other larger post on starter relay should just have ONE(and only one) smaller wire that runs down to starter motor
There is also a smaller post labelled with an "S", it will have 1 smaller wire that runs into the cab, this wire activates the starter relay that then activates the starter motor
