2001 Ford Ranger oil pressure sender

I have a 2001 Ranger with a 3.0 engine. When it is cold out and it is started the check gauge light is on and the oil pressure gauge isn't reading. After a while, the gauge starts reading and the light goes out.
Could someone tell me where the oil pressure gauge is located on this engine? There are no other problems associated with this. I want to replace the sending gauge. Hopefully that will solve the problem. Tom

Your 3.0L sending switch screws into the block behind the passenger side cylinder head and may be hard to see from above. It is possible to go in through the PS wheel well and push the rubber splash shield out of the way for a better view. The wire to it is dark green/white.

Here is a pic for you. I also have an '01 with the 3.0l

It's the sensor on the right side just behind the passenger head.

Hope this helps.

I recommend installing a real pressure gauge... just saying.
