2007 Ranger - Adjusting door latch

My passenger door rattles on rough roads. I noticed the door is not latching tightly. Do you adjust the striker on the frame or the latch on the door? Are they both moveable?

Helped me

I had same issue. Door weatherstripping wearing out over time. There are posts on here about moving around the rubber bump stops to stop the rattle. Can result in wind n water intrusion. I used this Honda silicone grease I saw on you tube videos. Cleaned em with alcohol and rubbed in a bunch of the stuff. Almost completely stopped the squeak. Brought the seals back to life.

I adjusted the striker U thingy on the door frame. I moved it back about 1/8" and that was too much. It would not close unless you really slammed it. I brought it back out till it was only 1/16' of an inch in from original setting and it latches now without rattling. Nice and quiet.
Thanks for your suggestions;
Harry
