4wd module location

4wd module location

i was having some trouble with my 4wd system and was wondering if someone can tell me where the 4wd module is located on my 93 ranger xlt 5 speed p.s. am new so forgive me for my ignorance lol

Regular cab: driver side rear corner of cab
Supercab: driver side between B-pillar and rear corner of cab

FWIW, the shift motor on the t-case is usually more troublesome than the module.

ya thats whats i been hearing about the motor but i just wanted the start at the module because i hear there is a rest button on it that can flash a trouble code if the module is fried. if you have any other ideas feel free

i found the module i hit the rest button but the led didn't flash it just stayed solid what does that mean?

I don't have a manual for your truck so I can't answer that. Try reading through this article, concentrating on the sections for 94 and earlier Ranger:

4x4 Module location 93 Ranger XLT Super Cab

My 4x4 Electric Module is located behind that small cab seat behind the drivers side. I thought it was a premium sound power amp. Good thing I didn't disconnect it.
