86 B2 ignition lock cylinder replace
I know all the videos and articles say just push in the pin at the bottom of the ignition lock cylinder and the lock cylinder pops right out. That is not the case for me. I have provided a lot of pressure/pushing and the pin does not move like all the videos and articles say it should. I have a tilt column, is that what is buggering me up? Please help. How do I get the ignition lock cylinder out? The pin on my new lock cylinder doesn't seem to move either.
beat it with a hammer and it comes out!

You didn't mention one step, you have to put the key in and turn it ON, and then you push the pin in
Wouldn't be much of a "lock" if you could just push in a pin and release it
If you don't have the key or key you have won't turn the cylinder then you can't remove the cylinder using the "push the pin in" method, so no "pops right out"
Mobile Locksmith can probably pick it, or you will need to drill it out

Yeah, I did not have a key. The lock cylinder would rotate and start the truck with no key which is why I was replacing it. I took a hammer and a punch to the pin that locks the ignition lock cylinder in place and it came out easy enough. I had the lock cylinder in the on position, without the key, the pin could not be pushed in without some extra BFH help.
