I've got a 95 Ranger with 272 thousand miles I've got what I think is a relay problem. Every time i start moving I can hear the clicking in the dash. Every time it clicks my drivers window goes down Every time it clicks. Then my 4x4 lig

1995 Ranger with power windows will have "One-touch" for drivers side window
One-touch means you only have to press the DOWN button once and window will roll down all the way, does that work?

That is done by GEM and a relay

One touch module is a relay

It all starts with the Down Button in drivers door, it could be causing the issue, does up/down button "feel ok", or loose?
That DOWN signal is sent to the GEM(generic electronic module) and One Touch module
But the GEM is what ultimately controls it.
So clicking relay may be bad relay(one touch) but relay may be getting signal to close from GEM, so relay is just doing what it is told

Hi Ron thanks for replying. The one touch down does not work. I replaced the relay already. But the clicking is still there. Is the GEM an easy fix? Do you know why the relay would only "click" when the truck is in gear? Also sometimes when the truck is off. I will try replacing the GEM and see if that works. Thank You!

 

No, the GEM can be a PITA.

Did you check the Master switch in Drivers door?

Unplug it and go for a drive see if you still get the relay clicking
