I started my Ranger this morning and have a problem. Turn the wipers on it it does one full up and back down. Turn the truck off and turn the ignition back on the wiper on and it only does it just once and will not work unless I do it again. Also you turn the truck off and leave the key in the ignition open the door and it only ding a few times and stops. turn the key on and do it again and just a few dings and stops. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

Check the electronic switch/control box (sorry I don't know what it's called) in the steering column. It controls things like the lights, wipers, etc. It's possible that you've got corrosion in there so that it doesn't make good contact. You have to pull off the steering column shroud to get at it. I had to replace mine about ten years ago and it was $65 at the time.
